Returns & Other Important Details

The Dark Maiden offers World-wide shipping. The Dark Maiden is based in both Skåne, Sweden and the Pacific Northwest, US. Currently, most items are shipped from or within the USA. *I am regularly updating the website, so if a shipping price seems off please don’t hesitate to reach out. You may also be billed for additional shipping fees if my site miscalculated the cost of shipment (this is more likely to occur with overseas shipments). If you are worried about this, please email me before placing an order.

TIME, slow fashion time:

All garment listings will state a production time estimate. Please, allow additional time for shipping. If you are outside of the US, allow a minimum of 2 weeks for your parcel to arrive after your order is completed. If you place an order during the Holiday Seasons, unless on items marked ‘ready-to-ship’, additional time for production will likely be added.

Certain products can be found in Sweden at different points of the year. Please, email if you are curious about this so you can save on shipping fees!

RETURNS/EXCHANGES:

In regard to Clothing:

The Dark Maiden is a very tiny business and returns hurt us significantly on big orders, so they are generally not accepted at this time. And no refunds are offered during production time. Please, be sure to check your measurements and the measurements made on each individual listing before placing your order as a preventative effort.

If there’s an understandable situation, I can offer you in-store credit or an exchange. If something is truly my fault or a lost occurs during shipment, I offer to resend items or your money back.

If granted, a return on a garment may be accepted in exchange for a different size; however, the return shipping cost and 2nd shipping cost are the responsibility of the buyer to cover. Buyer must contact me prior to sending an item back for return shipping instructions and approval. Items must be returned through FEDEX with provided tracking information. Proof must be sent to me through email. Items must be sent back within 10 days of receiving. Items must be in perfect, unworn condition otherwise an exchange will not be granted and item will be returned to buyer.

In regard to Prints and Apothecary:

All apothecary and prints orders are final. If an order is damaged upon arrival, a replacement will be sent.

In regard to Sheepskins:

There are no returns or refunds offered for sheepskins. All purchases are final.

ALL SALE/DISCOUNTED ITEMS ARE FINAL SALE.

Refunds are not issued unless an item is defective.

CUSTOM ORDERS:

Feel free to send your request via email: kontakt.thedarkmaiden@gmail.com

Custom orders are generally not accepted during the holiday seasons and if they are, production time is extended.

If your request is accepted through email correspondence, you will be emailed the estimated cost for your order. Full payment is expected before project begins, but sometimes I am able to offer a payment plan throughout the production period. It’s always okay to inquire about this option!

All custom orders are sent with insured shipping. All custom orders are non-refundable.

ART COMMISSIONS: are not included in this webshop. They are an entirely separate process that occurs outside of The Dark Maiden. If you are interested in hiring me, Sigurd Persson, to do artwork for you, you may reach out to me via email. There we can begin a one-on-one conversation to see if your vision can be fostered by me. Art production can take months. I traditionally have accepted commissions in the rotation of the the 4 Seasons. Contracts aren’t generally involved when they are for individuals and small business as each commission is unique. Commissions are based instead on a trust/respect relationship; I am loyal to all who I commit art work to and expect the same in return. A deposit is expected that is of course non-refundable. Please, make all requests known and understood before payment begins. Agreements don’t change after initial hire as the estimated cost is based on the initial agreement. I, Sigurd Persson, always remain the technical owner of all of my work, but those who commission work from me hold certain Rights of Use as in the tradition of commissioner and artist relationship.
